Selmer Paris Mark VII Alto - 1978
Description
The Selmer Mark VII is one of the world’s most under-rated saxophones: once you’ve had the chance to play one it’s quite hard to see why!
This Mark VII plays as well as it looks. In great condition, this sax offers all the quality and efficiency of a modern horn, with the classic Selmer sound.
The sound is very reminiscent of the later Mark VIs: both full and robust with that deep richness of sound unique to Selmers. Although slightly more resistant than modern horns, the breadth of sound this horn has is unmatched by almost any of the other horns in the store. It has an overall dark sound without being stuffy, and its able to project its sound clearly. The key work is in great shape and feels solid under the fingers, the low Eb and C keys are noticeably different from the more modern horns but takes no time to get adjusted to. Whilst these aren’t top collector’s items, these instruments ooze a similar quality to some of the most sought after Mark VIs. Well worth popping into our London store to playtest!
Please note we do not offer finance options on this instrument. Any finance applications will be canceled.
