A premium versatile reed
In any style – with any mouthpiece – you’ll achieve maximum results with the V21 reed. This unfiled reed is the first saxophone reed with a conical shape.
It offers a clean, particularly warm and centered sound while providing an excellent sound projection. The V21 reed also allows precise articulation and great ease in achieving large interval leaps. If you play a bit of everything, this reed will handle all of it well!
Staff Review
Vandorens most innovative reed to date, and one that is designed with versatility in mind. It has a tone quality that's not too bright, not too dark. If you're a classical player after very clean and precise intonation, this reed will do it. If you're a jazz player that strives for a rich full tone with plenty of projection, this reed has you covered. My only criticism would be that if you're a pop or rock player, this reed may not have the brightness or cut needed for playing in an amplified setting. For most other applications though, the V21 is a great pick! - Oren Gurney (oren@sax.co.uk)
