Drake - New York Jazz - Alto Mouthpiece

A RECREATION OF THE VINTAGE MEYER NY

Aaron has crafted this thrilling new model to capture the essence of the renowned vintage NY Meyers while incorporating the distinctive control and responsiveness for which Drake is recognized. The rollover baffle seamlessly transitions into a gradual floor slope, channeling the air column at a thoroughly calculated angle to ensure optimal projection and a rich depth of tone. The inclusion of a medium "venturi" type chamber plays a key role in maintaining a controlled and even timbre across the registers.

Additionally, the beak angle and body dimensions have been meticulously designed to enhance embouchure comfort and aesthetic appeal. Every aspect of this model has been thoughtfully considered to not only pay homage to the classic NY Meyers but also to embody the precision and craftsmanship synonymous with the Drake brand, resulting in a mouthpiece that offers a harmonious blend of vintage character and contemporary performance.

Staff Review

"I think Drake has cracked the nut with this one - attempting to capture that vintage NY Meyer tone. So what are the ingredients? A nice blend of depth, clarity and that classic 'buzz'. I feel all these qualities are inherent in this mouthpiece, so rather than spend a fortune on trying to source a Vintage Meyer you should stop by one of our stores and try out one of these!" Jim@sax.co.uk
