Staff Review
"The sound of the Venova is surprisingly full and saxophone-like. It also has a much bigger dynamic range than I was expecting, giving you the possibility to be very expressive. Now here comes the hard bit; the challenge is to learn all of the cross-fingerings such that you can play this instrument adeptly and fully chromatically. It’s entirely possible, and would suggest that most sax players will have it basically down after a few sessions. Neatly, Yamaha give you the option to use either a German or a baroque fingering system – this mainly affects whether you use a ‘forked’ F fingering or a regular index fingered F." - Jim Cheek (Sax.co.uk)
