It sings! Ground-breaking premium tenor sax ligature for all metal mouthpieces

One of the most wonderfully crafted ligatured we've ever seen!

Created by Roberto Romeo of Roberto's Winds in New York City, this new ligature has been designed to 'generate sympathetic resonance, enriching the harmonic palette to enable your very best sound'.   The outer shell is made from bronze and only contacts the mouthpiece via a cutaway section on the top; otherwise, there is a spherical area of space around the mouthpiece that acts like a resonating acoustic chamber as the vibrations are transmitted via the contact points on the plate.  The sonic results are outstanding - this ligature is like no other and brings a new richness and resonance to your sound.  It is designed perfectly to fit against the contours of an Otto Link metal mouthpiece, but it works equally as well on any other metal mouthpiece too.

Incorporated into this unique design is a fully adjustable headless screw and self-tightening system that retains your custom settings.  Simply adjust to your preference and push the ligature over the mouthpiece until snug.

There is the option to purchase the full set-up that includes two bronze plates and two sterling silver plates, each one with differing ridge thicknesses to allow for slight tonal variation, or you can save a penny or two and go for a single bronze plate or silver plate version.

Staff Review

If you watch my video review on YouTube you'll be able to see how wowed I am with this ligature, from those initial sceptical moments of 'what on earth is this thing' through to loving using it on every tenor sax gig!  To explain briefly; I was honoured to be sent this ligature by the wonderful Roberto's Winds store in NYC as a kind of gift to say 'thank you' for promoting their reeds.  The accompanying letter from Roberto explained that they'd love for me to do a video review of it as they were confident that this revolutionary design would 'pleasantly surprise me'.  It has been a labour of love and a few years in the making.  Before even getting into using the ligature you have to first take a step back and commend their efforts as no expense has been spared.  The lig is presented in the biggest box you'll ever see for a lig; there are multiple layers of goodies within, from little wooden screwdrivers to perfectly sculpted end caps that so neatly pop over the mouthpiece and lig you won't believe it!  But when cutting to the chase and playing it, I have to admit that I was really knocked out with the extra resonance that was on hand, over and above a standard cloth lig.  Yes, it's not the kind of difference you get when you change reeds or change the mouthpiece - that is always going to be obvious when it comes to any kind of ligature appraisal, but the ability to be able to add something to the sound that already exists is a very special thing, and that's what I find occurs with the Uovo.  I also think that you can take your time with this lig and explore the resonance possibilities the more you tune your body into it and spend time on it.  Great job Romeo!
