Listen to the Brilhart Eboilin:
Description

Brilhart mouthpieces resonate with many sax players who know their history, and we're pleased to say the Ebolin 'Carlsbad' model is back.

The Carlsbad Ebolin models have such distinctive characteristics which have all been retained, including:

  • White bite plate integrated to the black ebonite
  • 'Brilhart' stamped at slant across barrel
  • Model stamped on shank
  • Serial number stamped on right of table

The great thing about about the re-emergence of this iconic mouthpiece is that the original molds from Arnold Brilhart's Elkhart production in the 1950's are being used again.  Each mouthpiece is then individually hand-finished to produce the best possible result.  The Tonalin models were famous for producing a great balance of warmth and edge, and given that the original production methods are being called upon again, it is safe to say that this is a great opportunity to get your hands on a piece of history.

Brilhart enjoyed a long history of making mouthpieces, including manufacturing locations in New York, followed by Carlsbad in California, and shortly after this, Great Britain.  Many saxophone legends have played Brilhart models, including Lester Young (Ebolin model) and Charlie Parker (famously the white Tonalin, but also the Ebolin).  Even if we don't have all the models back in production, how fantastic to have the Ebolin back again!
