Following in the footsteps of the highly successful clarinet Reserve mouthpiece, D’addario have now produced a version for saxophone too. This mouthpiece is designed for classical music, offering the player a truly focussed and dark timbre with plenty of room for expression and dynamic flexibility.

The Reserve alto mouthpiece has been designed to compete with the other well-known classical models. They are precisely machined from solid rod rubber using computer controlled technology for ultimate consistency from mouthpiece to mouthpiece. It offers a strong tonal centre, with plenty of dynamic flexibility.

 Material: Solid Rod Rubber

"This mouthpiece has a strong and pure core, very dark in nature, and centred in the way that a good classical mouthpiece should be. For me, the dynamic range is confined to a smaller scale, but I think that’s largely because we’re dealing with a classical piece that is focussed by nature – in other words, the sound is more concentrated around the quieter dynamics and this is where its fundamental expression is. If you’re playing classical music you need to have a clean and precise control and this piece allows you to do that very well." - Jim (
