The Ultimate Fusion of Modern Precision and Vintage Saxophone Character

The Eastman EAS852 52nd Street Alto Saxophone blends the timeless character of vintage American saxophones with modern engineering. Developed in collaboration with acclaimed saxophonist Alex Hahn, every detail has been refined to deliver a rich, expressive sound, exceptional response and effortless playability for today's professional performer.

At the heart of the instrument is Eastman's patented DS Mechanism, providing outstanding key stability, faster action and a lighter touch. The large bell, enlarged bow and vintage-inspired body taper produce a broad, resonant tone with impressive projection, while rolled-style tone holes and an aged unlacquered brass finish contribute to its warm, complex voice and distinctive appearance. Precision construction ensures excellent intonation and consistency throughout the range.

Whether you're performing on stage, recording in the studio or practising at home, the EAS852 offers the flexibility, dynamic range and tonal depth demanded by serious players.

Staff Review

I love the work that Eastman are doing with their latest line of instruments.  Having met Ryan Richman, one of the chief designers behind the 852 during a visit to our store recently, I was super inspired by the sheer passion and attention to detail that pours into their designs.  There is a real emphasis on the metal-work, as this is at the heart of the density of sound production; the brass is thin, but hard, and therefore light (like some of the best vintage horns).  There is a one piece body and bell, with a single 'brazed' seam - all this contributes to the beautiful core sound that we experience.  I also LOVE the feeling of the keywork; it is smooth, solid and seamless.  Now I understand why Alex Hahn is a happy man!

When I first started playing the 52nd Street alto it was the first time I truly felt like I was playing like myself.
