P Mauriat Le Bravo Low A Baritone Saxophone

£5,300.00
Description

A fat-sounding baritone that packs a serious punch

The Le Bravo Baritone Saxophone from P. Mauriat combines warm, resonant red brass with the powerful, solid nickel-silver Super VI neck to create a thick sound that has a serious punch.

Description

The Le Bravo is a beautifully crafted instrument that any serious saxophonist would be happy to play.

Baritone saxophones are becoming more and more unobtainable due to the price.  Although this is still a relatively expensive instrument it's still way below the cost of the Japanese competition, while maintaining a quality of build and performance that will put you in good stead if you are serious about the baritone.

A more contemporary tone to the well established P.Mauriat models principally due to the solid nickel silver neck which adds a huge amount of extra punch. This is the same neck that is fitted to the more expensive PMST-60NS & Black Pearl saxes so a great enhancement to the Le Bravo.

The satin lacquer looks very classy and subtly individual.

Staff Review

The Le Bravo range has always been one to punch well above its weight in terms of what you get for your money. And this baritone is no exception! The ergonomics are solid and comfortable, and the intonation is very stable. In terms of tone, for me, the Le Bravo leans towards the brighter end of the spectrum. The sound is thick and full with a lot of weight to it. And it bellows down the low end without much effort (like any good baritone should!), whilst still maintaining plenty of body and clarity in the middle and upper registers (helped quite a bit I'd imagine by the addition of the nickel-silver neck).

Overall this sax is a pleasure to play and packs plenty of punch for most situations. If you're in the market for a great all-round baritone with tons of character, look no further! - Oren Gurney - SAX
