Theo’s new Lakshmi mouthpiece for tenor is dedicated to all those players who love that traditional Vintage Otto Link sound. But this one outplays any modern Link, and in typical Theo style harnesses an incredible focus and core while delivering on the classic full and fat Florida sound many of us know and love!
It uses a unique and proprietary Elongated-Roll-Over-Baffle™, as well as Theo’s new Large-Stadium Chamber™. The Large-Stadium Chamber™ is a technologically advanced version of a traditional large chamber, combining True-Large Chamber sections with Medium Chamber sections for a focus and core that is incredible while maintaining the full, rich sound of a Vintage-True-Large-Chamber. The ‘Stadium Chamber’ name comes from its shape, which approximates the shape of a sports stadium.
We all know that Theo Wanne is a big Dexter Gordon fan and he has stated in the past that he would love to make a mouthpiece for Dexter if he was still around! We’re pretty sure that this mouthpiece would be the ticket!

Staff Review
Theo is the man when it comes to knocking out better and better mouthpieces as time goes by! As we know he loves to continually add numbers to all his classic designs (Durga 4, Durga 5, etc); he is always seeking improvements and squeezing the extra juice out of the possibilities. Even though the Lakshmi is a new design, for me it takes elements of other designs that we know and love – for example, that warmth and core of the Ambika, the vibrancy of the Durga – and combines them into this new piece. The inspiration is said to be the Florida Otto Link, with its distinctive roll-over baffle and large chamber; that’s all in there and you can feel how it contributes to that fat, traditional, and yet beautifully projecting sound. But there’s an extra finesse and grace in the sound beyond this, and I’m sure the intricacies of the new Large stadium chamber and rounded side walls all have a bearing on the final result. Given that this mouthpiece sits nicely in the middle and really does everything I can see that it is going to be very popular!
